Drs Retha de Villiers Scheepers, Noel Tracey and Inez Mahony, researchers from the University of the Sunshine Coast in collaboration with Innovate Moreton Bay, have investigated small business resilience in challenging times.
This study provides recommendations which will help to develop a more resilient business community in our region.
This project used case studies to explore the resilience and innovation of small businesses within the Moreton Bay region. Interviews were conducted with the owners/managers of 20 local firms affected by the COVID-19 crisis. These firms responded to the impacts of the pandemic by adapting and innovating, which in many cases provided the basis for their successful, strong emergence, post-pandemic.
The report provides leadership implications, suggestions on how firms can adapt and innovate their business models and tips on how to increase business resilience.
