Businesses looking for expert advice in navigating through COVID-19 and planning their recovery will soon be able to tap into free online learning.
The Business Support Modules will be available online from August, covering a wide range of topics within the five stages of business including digital marketing, finance & accounting, protecting your business online, managing staff and more.
The initiative is delivered by Business Moreton Bay Region, Innovate Moreton Bay, and Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT), and supported by Moreton Bay Regional Council
MBRIT CEO Shane Newcombe said the modules would be delivered by industry professionals with decades of experience.
“An initial series of more than 30 support modules will be released from August, and the final series of more than 90 modules will be released in September 2020,” Mr Newcombe said.
“Business owners have told us they need support, information and tips on how to navigate their recovery post-COVID-19.
“We’re doing everything we can to ensure they not only survive but thrive by making the most of opportunities that come their way.”
Moreton Bay Region Mayor Peter Flannery encouraged all local businesses to take advantage of the free support.
“The free modules consist of a video presentation, transcript, and podcast so business owners and professionals can choose how and when they’d like to access the resources, anytime from anywhere,” he said.
“Some modules will also have additional downloads and resources made available for further support and Business Moreton Bay Region is also looking to add to this resource throughout 2021.
“Council conducted a survey in partnership with MBRIT and Regional Development Australia and found businesses wanted greater access to information across a range of areas including business planning, marketing, human resources and small business management.
“These modules will cover those business management and growth topics, as well as easy bite-size information on how to work with us including what suppliers need to know to tender for local work.”
