Meet the Winners of City of Moreton Bay Telstra Innovation Awards 2024

Innovation and creative thinking were celebrated on 20 June at the 2024 City of Moreton Bay's Telstra Innovation Awards!

Ten teams of young people pitched their exciting and ground-breaking concepts to the judges for a chance to share in $10,000 worth of prizes. In 2024, the winners were:

1st Place - Project ‘LAM’ from Bray Park State High School. An innovative website uses AI technology to allow teenage boys to express themselves freely through a live chat AI tool. The tool then directs the young men to services where they can seek more specialised help.

2nd Place - ‘Project BrayGreen’ from Bray Park State High School uses gamified recycling bins linked to an app to encourage students to recycle and earn points to be redeemed for goods made from recycled materials.

3rd Place - Project ‘Share 2 Care’ from Genesis Christian College encourages locals to donate excess fresh produce from home gardens to local foodbanks through an app that can arrange collection and distribution.

Emerging Entrepreneur Award - Project ‘Safe in Space’ from Bray Park State High School uses a special space debris collector to remove space junk and recycle into medicine or on-sell to other space exploration companies or collectors.

Congratulations to the finalists from Albany Creek State High School, St Benedict’s College, and North Lakes College.
