Queensland's rich history of innovation continues as the Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur calls for nominations to join the esteemed Innovation Advisory Council (IAC). The IAC, a key driver in fostering innovation, building connections, and accelerating entrepreneurial growth across Queensland, is welcoming new voices to help shape the future of our vibrant, sustainable economy.
Established to champion innovation across Queensland, the IAC's role is crucial in connecting ecosystem stakeholders, attracting investment, and building resources to expedite innovation through entrepreneurial action. Through its independent advice on policy, initiatives, partnerships, and programs, the IAC is instrumental in pushing the frontiers of entrepreneurship and innovation in the state.
Over the course of 2023 and 2024, the IAC's mission is to focus on fostering connections, creating impact, enhancing resilience, and facilitating transitions.
The IAC is keen to broaden its representation with up to 12 dedicated members willing to serve a voluntary and unpaid term of two years. The Council meets six times a year, with additional events and policy consultations that members are encouraged to participate in. The IAC also intends to participate in selected short regional Queensland tours in 2023 and 2024.
This is an incredible opportunity for those who are inclusive, collaborative, play significant leadership roles within the ecosystem, and have contemporary knowledge or experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. Candidates with a proven commitment to actively supporting the ecosystem, and a willingness to engage and utilise their networks to benefit Queensland are encouraged to apply.
To reflect the diversity and regionality of the Queensland population, the IAC is particularly interested in nominees of varying ages, genders, ethnicities, and those based in regional Queensland.
Nominations can be submitted directly by the nominee or made on their behalf. All nominations will be reviewed by an expert panel, with shortlisting and due diligence checks conducted thereafter.
This is a remarkable opportunity to be part of a team driving the innovation and entrepreneurship landscape of Queensland. As a member of the IAC, you will contribute to shaping policies, forming strategic alliances, and nurturing an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth in our community.
Don't miss your chance to play a role in the future of innovation in Queensland. Nominations close on Friday, 14 July 2023 at 5pm. Nomination forms are available here.
